Temperature Mapping

Temperature mapping is the process used to confirm that the whole space within fridge compartments operates uniformly and consistently within a specified range. The process also establishes that the permanent temperature recording device represents the entire load.

Defined areas throughout a fridge compartment are individually recorded over a period of time using temperature monitoring data recorders. The results are then processed to give an accurate picture of the temperature profile of the whole compartment.

To demonstrate the performance of the fridge compartment at different extremes of outside temperature, the studies are conducted with the vehicle inside a climate control chamber or during an actual journey in both winter and summer.

All of GDP’s temperature controlled vehicles are temperature mapped and are thereafter re-validated periodically.
